For Attendees: Getting Around in Las Vegas

1. Getting from the airport to your hotel:
• First, check whether your hotel offers a shuttle. Many hotels do. The conference hotel, Embassy Suites, does not provide pick-up from the airport, but does provide scheduled drop-off to the airport. Please check with the hotel reception or concierge.
• Take a taxi, or Uber or Lyft -- getting to most hotels near the conference venue and on the strip will be under $20.

2. Getting around Las Vegas:
• Again, check whether your hotel offers a shuttle. The conference hotel, Embassy Suites, does provide scheduled service to the strip. Please check with the hotel reception or concierge.
• Take a taxi, Uber or Lyft. Most Vegas attractions are within a 2 mile radius of the strip. The strip itself is about a mile or two away from the conference location and hotel.


3. Getting to the conference venue:
• From the conference hotel: Shuttles will be available every morning to the UNLV Students Union (conference location) and will take you back to the hotel at the end of the day. Each shuttle holds about 50 people. The shuttle will pick-up at the lobby of the Embassy Suites (on Swenson Street) and drop-off outside the UNLV student union (conference venue). The shuttle ride should be about 5-10mins. The shuttle schedule is as follows:
Monday (Dec 11)

• Morning pick-up from Embassy Suites: 7:45am and 8:00am
• Evening pick-up from outside the UNLV student union: 5:30pm and 5:45pm

Tuesday (Dec 12)

• Morning pick-up from Embassy Suites: 7:45am and 8:00am
• Evening pick-up from outside the UNLV student union: 5:30pm and 5:45pm

Wednesday (Dec 13)
• Morning pick-up from Embassy Suites: 8:00am and 8:15am

• Evening pick-up from outside the UNLV student union (after reception): 7:45pm and 8:00pm

Thursday (Dec 14)
• Morning pick-up from Embassy Suites: 8:00am and 8:15am
• Evening pick-up from outside the UNLV student union to Stratosphere (banquet): 6:30pm, 3 shuttles
• Night pick-up from Stratosphere and drop-off at Las Vegas Strip (optional) and Embassy Suites: 9:45pm, 10:00pm, and 10:15pm
Friday (Dec 15)
• Morning pick-up from Embassy Suites: 8:00am and 8:15am
• Afternoon pick-up from outside the UNLV student union (to Embassy Suites): 2:00pm


4. From other hotels: If your hotel is not within walking distance to the venue or the conference hotel, we recommend taking an Uber/Lyft or a taxi.


5. Walking: If your hotel is within walking distance of the conference venue, you may consider walking. Please check the weather and temperature before doing so. Please also be careful and aware of your belongings and surroundings when walking, as you would in any other new city. We recommend walking through the UNLV campus, assuming you are staying at the conference hotel.


6. Renting a car:
• Unless you plan on traveling outside Las Vegas city, you may not need to rent a car. Between rental costs, insurance, parking, and gas, you may be better off taking Uber or Lyft. Consider your costs carefully before deciding to rent.
